Gastrointestinal Oncology Clinical Faculty Description

The Department of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC), Keck School of Medicine of USC seeks an exceptional full-time, ABIM-certified/eligible Medical Oncologist with specialty interest in Gastrointestinal Oncology for a clinical faculty position in the Division of Oncology at Keck Medicine of USC. The Gastrointestinal Oncologist will be at the Assistant Professor Level or higher and will work with the some of the most influential “Top Doctors in Los Angeles.” For more than 131 years, Keck Medicine of USC has been recognized among the nation’s most respected academic medical centers.

Oncology faculty have leadership roles in the scientific agenda of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) and have provided core laboratory resources for translational trials conducted by the Group.

The Position:

The successful Gastrointestinal Oncologist will have strong clinical skills and interest in serving a diverse patient population in both private and public clinical practice. Clinical and research interest in gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies are required. This position will be active in the NIH/NCI-funded GI Oncology Program at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Program is nationally recognized as a leader in GI Cancer diagnostic, prevention, treatment and cancer genetics, providing comprehensive care for all gastrointestinal malignancies, including those of the esophagus, stomach, small bowl, colon, rectum, anal, neuroendocrine, biliary, and pancreas as well as GIST.

Professional Qualifications – How Do You Qualify?

  • M.D., D.O. or M.D./PhD degrees.
  • Current Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine (ABIM certified).
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Hematology/Oncology Fellowship training program or have significant work experience in Gastrointestinal Oncology is required.
  • Unrestricted State of California Medical License (current or eligible) upon appointment and maintain throughout the term of the appointment.
  • Must be appropriately credentialed and accepted as a member of the active staff at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, LAC+USC, Keck Hospital of USC, and other sites deemed necessary by the Professor of Medicine in the Division of Oncology.
  • Clinical and research interest in gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies are required.
