Make sure you are asking the same questions to all reference check calls. Make sure the questions are all open-ended and free of judgment or leading phrasing like in a typical interview fashion.<\/p>\n<h3>Perform reference checks earlier on in the hiring process<\/h3>\n<p>The sooner you start reference checking candidates the longer and more possible references you will be able to speak with in regards to each candidate.
