If you\u2019re trying to change jobs, how do you know the <a href=\"http:\/\/kbicblog.com\/blog\/pharmacy\/interviewing\/interview-questions-insight-company\/\">company you\u2019re running to<\/a> doesn\u2019t have the same problems as the company you&#8217;re running from?<\/p>\n<p>This prep sheet is not comprehensive, but it\u2019s the ultimate guide to <a href=\"http:\/\/kbicblog.com\/blog\/pharmacy\/category\/interviewing\/\">acing an interview<\/a>, and (more importantly) making sure the job and company is truly what you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Research the Company<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tools (including but not limited to): LinkedIn, Glassdoor, CareersInFood.com, Yelp, BevNet<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How many employees? (local, global)<\/li>\n<li>How long in business? (which states, which countries)<\/li>\n<li>How does the company make a profit?<\/li>\n<li>What is the biggest product line \/ who are the biggest clients?<\/li>\n<li>Where is the product sold?<\/li>\n<li>Who is the competition?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Research the Job<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tools (including but not limited to): CareersInFood.com, PayScale.com<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What does the job description say are the main responsibilities? Which of those responsibilities made you want to apply to this job?<\/li>\n<li>What other job duties might this role\/job title involve?<\/li>\n<li>What position do people pursue after this role? What are the most common paths of advancement?<\/li>\n<li>What do other people with this role say about their responsibilities on their profiles?<\/li>\n<li>What tasks do other job descriptions for the same title say?<\/li>\n<li>What other skills are necessary to succeed in this role?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Research YOURSELF<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tools (including but not limited to): Strengths Finder, Myers Briggs, Strength Deployment Inventory, Google search terms \u201cCareer Quiz\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are your strengths and areas for improvement? (two examples with detailed specifics)<\/li>\n<li>What are your interests? (interests are not the same as strengths: what you enjoy doing is not necessarily what you are skilled at doing)<\/li>\n<li>How do you handle stress? (give specific examples)<\/li>\n<li>How do you handle conflict? (conflict and stress are not the same)<\/li>\n<li>Why do you want this job?<\/li>\n<li>Why are you leaving your former job?<\/li>\n<li>If you get this job, what do you imagine doing in one year? In three years?<\/li>\n<li>What are your deal-breakers and deal-makers? E.g. what makes a dream job versus a nightmare?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may not find the perfect job, after all, there\u2019s a reason it\u2019s called \u201cwork\u201d. But when you do find that job that will carry you forward on your path to excellence, a job that will make you feel like you have a purpose, don\u2019t blow your chances by overlooking preparation.
