5 Email Templates Every Job-Seeker Needs

5 Email Templates Every Job-Seeker Needs - KBIC Food Science SearchA lot of recruiters use text messages now instead of email to communicate with candidates, but as a job-seeker you still have to know how to compose a polite and professional email message.

You will use email when you communicate with your hiring manager, even if you also use text messages sometimes for casual communications like “Have a minute to talk by phone later today?”

Let your recruiter or hiring manager initiate the use of text messaging. You can use email until invited to switch to a less format communication channel and text instead.

Here are five email templates that will come in handy during your job search.

Post-Interview Thank You Message

Dear Peter,

Thanks for your time yesterday talking with me about the Marketing Coordinator job at Acme Explosives. I especially appreciated your detailed explanation of the plastic extrusion process.

I heard that the process of quickly turning trade show sales leads into customers is high on your priority list for 2017, as is the part re-numbering project and the integration of databases with your new subsidiary.

Questions About The Job

Dear Amanda,

Thanks for your voice mail message yesterday.

I was happy to hear that Peter Parker enjoyed our conversation and has asked me to  interview with Jane Smith.

I am very interested in the Marketing Coordinator opportunity.

I have two questions for you or the appropriate person at Acme Explosives:

 1. You mentioned that the Marketing Coordinator is a salaried position and that the starting salary is in the vicinity of $58,000 per year. Is there a bonus program associated with the role as well?

2. My other question relates to travel. I can travel up to 25% of the time in 2017 and I have several weeks of vacation booked as well as local commitments that are fixed at this point. I wanted to check in and make sure that these travel limitations don’t create a problem for Acme before taking up your time with a second interview.

Thanks in advance for your help, Amanda, and have a wonderful day!

Yours,

Clark

I Got The Offer — But It’s Not Correct

Dear Peter,

Thanks for the telephone conversation on Tuesday. Your offer letter arrived today. I was excited to get it and I’m stoked to join your team.

The offer letter is different from what we discussed in two respects. The salary level in the offer letter is $55,600 versus the $58,000 starting salary we talked about.

Also, there is no mention in the offer letter of the bonus program Amanda Laurence in HR described. I figured these differences sprang from a clerical mishap so I wanted to let you know about the discrepancies.

If you can please get me a corrected offer letter I’ll sign it and get it back to you right away. Thanks again Peter, and have a wonderful weekend!

Accepting The Job Offer

Dear Peter,

Thanks for the revised offer letter. I’ve signed it, scanned it and it is attached. I’m excited to join your team beginning with the orientation session on Monday, January 23rd at 9:00 a.m. at your facility.

I’m looking forward to diving into Acme’s 2017 Marketing plan and helping to bring your vision to life. Please let me know if there’s anything I need to bring to orientation apart from my ID, and thanks again for the opportunity!

Yours,

Clark
