“For the 2013-14 rankings, U.S. News surveyed 179 pediatric centers to obtain clinical data in 10 specialties and asked 150 pediatric specialists in each specialty where they would send the sickest children. Eighty-seven hospitals ranked in at least one specialty. Ten hospitals that had high scores in at least three specialties were named to the Honor Roll.”

Texas was represented on the list with Children’s Medical Center in Dallas ranked #1 for Orthopedics and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston ranked #3 for Pulmonology along with #3 for Cardiology and Heart Surgery.

Our client’s division of 4 pediatric surgeons provides comprehensive surgical care to a large population base and increasing surgical volume requires that they add additional surgeons to the team. The team has extensive experience in advanced minimally invasive surgery including esophageal atresia repair, with two dedicated minimally invasive OR suites, state of the art instrumentation, and availability of the DaVinci Surgical Robotic System. They have comprehensive programs in management of chest wall deformities, pediatric surgical oncology and neonatal surgical care including a highly successful ECMO program. They are developing an adolescent bariatric surgery program under the leadership of one of their colleagues who also completed a MIS fellowship. Additionally, they are considering expanding our surgical offerings to include solid organ transplantation and advanced pediatric burn care.

The team includes three physician assistants and rotating general surgery residents who provide full-time front line coverage. Inpatient care is delivered at a standalone children’s hospital, connected directly to the clinic. The almost 200 bed facility includes a new patient tower, a 20 bed PICU, a 12 bed CVICU and 48 Level 2 and 3 NICU beds, with 24 hour critical care coverage. This multispecialty clinic group has over 100 medical and surgical physicians and psychologists on the campus. 24/7 in-house pediatric hospitalist coverage, 18 pediatric anesthesiologists and all pediatric surgical specialties are represented.

Academic appointments are available to the Mayo Clinic – Jacksonville, and University of Florida – Jacksonville.
