Division Chief of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Opportunity Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pennsylvania State College of Medicine and the Penn State Hershey Medical Center are actively seeking a leader in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) and additional Heart & Vascular CVIR faculty to join the growing team of six (6) full-time Interventional Radiologists and 2.5 Physician Assistants in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) program is part of an innovative Heart & Vascular Institute which has become a national academic model for the delivery of integrated, collaborative, and cutting-edge patient care.

The Penn State Heart & Vascular Institute (PSHVI) is a 63-physician integrated multi-specialty group that includes Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, CT Surgery, and Cardiology. The CVIR Division at Penn State Hershey Medical Center performs a full range of image-guided interventions and has a strong interventional oncology program, a strong venous disease and ablation program, and a regionally recognized multidisciplinary vascular malformations program.

Working under the academic leadership of Department Chair, Dr. Timothy Mosher, and the Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Behzad Soleimani, the right candidate will have an opportunity to explore a fully academic track or a hybrid academic and community pathway where teaching is required but dedicated research is secondary to the clinical mission.

Candidates should have interest in developing a high quality, patient focused practice and commitment to excellence to embrace a peer-learning environment while participating in academic and scholarly work.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
  • Medical degree: M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program; and completion of an accredited Fellowship Training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. CAQ in Vascular Interventional Radiology, a plus.
  • Licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania prior to the start of employment is required.
  • Possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills, have the ability to foster research, and share a commitment to excellence and diversity.

The open rank faculty position will be full time with primary effort to support clinical services and time allowed for academic, scholarly, and administrative efforts. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.
