Division Chief, REI Physician Opportunity Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UMass Memorial Medical Center — the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and the largest health care system in Central Massachusetts — is seeking an innovative, strategic leader to head the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) in Worcester, MA. Applicant should be an accomplished Reproductive Endocrinology leader and administrator in OBGYN and REI. The Division Chief, REI will be responsible for directing REI faculty and divisional activities, participating in clinical practice, IVF operations and procedures, gynecologic ultrasound, gynecologic surgery, and research along with resident and medical student education.

The UMass IVF Center is the only location in Central Massachusetts to offer comprehensive infertility services. The fully certified center is equipped to provide diagnostic and treatment solutions and perform all lVF laboratory and surgical services for patients in Central Massachusetts, Northern Rhode Island, Northern Connecticut, and Southern New Hampshire. UMass Memorial Health is also home to all Ob/Gyn subspecialty services including an exceptional Maternal-Fetal Medicine program, a robust and accomplished faculty who are academic specialists in general Ob/Gyn, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that offers the highest-level newborn care in the region with unparalleled outcomes.

REI Program Highlights:

  • The Division Chief, REI will serve as the academic leader for a division of 3 fellowship-trained physicians, ultrasonographers, PhD Embryologist, and andrology technicians.
  • Provide leadership at the new, state-of-the-art UMass IVF Center, conveniently located on the Memorial campus, within the Department of Ob/Gyn and Women’s Health Service Line.
  • UMass Memorial Fertility Center Embryology Laboratory is FDA registered, accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and a member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology.

Professional Qualifications:

Division Chief, REI must possess:

  • MD, DO degree, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Current Board Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) by the ABMS.
  • Unrestricted State of Massachusetts Medical License (current or eligible).
  • Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of OBGYN at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor and an appointment to the Medical Staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
