Skender Construction Promotes Three Partners to Lead Company Operations

Afshan Barshan and Andrew MacGregor were promoted to Executive Vice President, from Vice President. Dan Marijan was promoted to Executive Vice President, from Senior Superintendent. Barshan, MacGregor and Marijan are also partners at the firm. They will collectively lead Skender’s national operations team to focus on continuous process improvement and field integration.

Barshan joined Skender Construction in 2005, and has provided executive oversight for projects in the multi-unit housing, senior housing and healthcare market sectors. He holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from Michigan State University, and is co-founder and core team member of the Lean Construction Institute Chicago Community of Practice.

Since joining Skender Construction in 2006, MacGregor has provided leadership on large-scale, complex interior tenant improvement and ground-up commercial projects throughout Chicago and the West Coast. MacGregor holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Marijan joined the company in 2005, and has 30 years’ experience managing construction sites throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. He has managed some of the largest and high-profile projects throughout Chicago, including Motorola Mobility’s corporate headquarters relocation to the Merchandise Mart.
