The nation’s on the verge of a stadium-building boom, and it could mean big bucks for real estate players and an economic boost for the cities in which they’re located. Take a look at five of the hottest stadium projects in the country—and beyond.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium    atlanta

Location: Atlanta

Cost: $1.5B

Expected Completion: 2017

The Atlanta Falcons’ new Mercedes-Benz stadium was initially projected to cost $950M, but the 2M SF stadium soon rose to $1.5B—more than a 50% spike from the original price. Of course, the stadium means big things for Atlanta real estate and will give the city a much-anticipated economic boost.

Location: Inglewood, CA

Cost: $3B

Expected Completion: Early 2019

This 80,000-seat project, just a few miles from downtown LA, is shaking up the real estate world. Projected to be one of the world’s most expensive sports arenas, the Inglewood development is envisioned to be a year-round commercial hub, complete with retail and office space, homes and hotels—a cash cow for local retail and hospitality lenders.

US Bank Stadiumminn

Location: Minneapolis

Cost: $1.1B

Expected Completion: July 2016

US Bank Stadium, in the works since 2012, will soon be the new home of the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have been at their current stadium, the Metrodome, for 28 years. They shared it with MLB’s Minnesota Twins until the Twins moved to a new ballpark in 2010. US Bank Stadium can host up to 70,000 fans and cost roughly $1.1B, a combination of city and team funding.

SunTrust Parkgeorgia

Location: Cobb County, GA

Cost: $620M

Estimated Completion: Early 2017

This mixed-use project will serve as the new home to the Atlanta Braves in 2017. The team has called Turner Field home since 1997, but will transition to SunTrust Park early next year. The suburban park’s complex will include a luxury hotel, a two-story restaurant and a nine-story office building adjacent to the park.

Tottenham Hotspurs Stadiumtottenham

Location: Tottenham, London

Cost: $550M

Expected Completion: 2018

The Tottenham Hotspurs’ new $550M stadium is gearing up for a 2018-2019 unveiling. The stadium at White Hart Lane was proposed a decade ago and will seat up to 60,000 fans. Officials project it will help regenerate the Tottenham area, especially since the stadium will anchor smaller projects throughout the year.
